My visit to the Insulaner today did not lead to a successful end to the day. The location and the food itself is good. Unfortunately, the visit was disappointing for the food and drinks that are clearly in the upper price segment. At this point I would have expected more service and a pleasant environment. The two young waitresses were friendly but unfortunately unprofessional. When talking to customers, the eyes were rolled once or other gestures were clearly visible to all guests. Unfortunately, the main entrance door and the connecting door could not be closed and other guests and myself sat in the breeze and were frozen. I had to put on my jacket so I could sit there. A connecting door had to be closed in any case. Nobody seems to have an eye on other little things either. Two lamps were defective and one of the lights above the next table had flickered over and over again. The good location alone does not really entitle you to the upper price segment if all other important basic guest requirements are not met. If you have such an experience on vacation, you are very disappointed with such an experience.
We were on vacation in Malchow and they looked for a table that evening. Here we found what we were looking for, but we had to wait 30 minutes. The appearance of the restaurant outside is appealing, inside is okay, but the service is a bit taciturn, unfortunately the "small" friendly notes are missing in between. The door to the restaurant is always open in October, which is a real impertinence, the door to the restaurant should be kept closed so that you don't have to sit with a jacket like us. In addition, when someone leaves or enters the restaurant, the main door remains open, which creates an unpleasant draft in the room. All I can say about the meal is that it was delicious and I was satisfied. Pork loin with fried potatoes and mushrooms. I think, however, you definitely only benefit from the location here, the overall package could be improved.

The location of the hotel is great, you are right on the swing bridge and some restaurants, boutiques, etc. You are right on the lake / canal, which is also very nice. The breakfast is good, everything is brought to the place due to the corona. We had only booked breakfast and on the first evening we ate in the hotel's own restaurant. The food was delicious, no question about it, but the portion was a bit small for the price. Rooms don't look as chic as in the photos on the Internet, stains on the carpet, shower has mold stains in the corners and between the tiles. In general, the hotel is a bit old, worn from the surfaces. The heating didn't really work, in the evenings and at night it was quite cold, especially in the bathroom because of the ventilation it was very cool, we ultimately heated with the hair dryer that was in the bathroom. The mattresses are quite soft / saggy, so you didn't sleep very well. The street is often quite noisy, due to the old, raised paving stones, which you can hear quite a bit in the room, if this is on the street side. The parking lot behind the house is very narrow, just the driveway, left and right were sometimes only a few centimeters of space, our car kept peeping when entering. Very difficult with a big car! The other public parking lot that can be used is about 500-700 meters away from the house. Which would have been very impractical for us, since we were there to fish and then each time we would have had to lug all the equipment. In addition, if it is said that every room has a parking space, then it is assumed that there is a parking space in the courtyard / hotel's own parking lot for each room. This is not the case, there are 7 parking spaces behind the house. All other guests then have to take the public parking lot further away. As I said, the area is great, we will definitely come back here, but not in this hotel.
The house is located in the old town directly on the swing bridge with a large beer garden to the water. Here you can eat well and let your mind wander. My room was spacious and clean and the breakfast was plentiful. Only the wifi worked badly and crashed regularly. Still recommendable as accommodation and restaurant!
If you're looking for good food, a friendly team and beautiful surroundings, you've come to the right place. You don't have to wait long for your meal and you can enjoy the view. In bad weather, the charmingly furnished interior is only recommended.
Half of the tables outside are vacant, but there is a "reserved" sign everywhere. The waiters, we asked 2, ignore the request. In the hotel, cafe across the street, everything was really full, but we were greeted immediately and minutes later had a table by the water and great service.
Unfortunately not worth a recommendation. Price-performance leaves a lot to be desired. Not enough parking space! Not a good host - rude, very taciturn. Cleanliness - "OK". The crown put the instant scrambled eggs. The location was great and right on the Malchow swing bridge. Everything else a failure.
Mixed experience with this hotel. It's not that fresh anymore, but the rooms are OK. Some of them are, like ours, directly above the very busy street, which means an unbelievable noise around the clock. The WiFi was poor and we found it particularly sad that the restaurant didn't want to serve us outside on a warm late summer evening despite Corona.
Unfriendly staff except for a super nice breakfast waitress who really turned around. ? Room so-so. Rather old-fashioned. Many existing holes from e.g. removed curtain rods or various stains on the walls. Certainly one could have spruced up some things in the unfortunately existing forced corona time. Double beds were 2 details put together, so unfortunately with a gap in between. 5 parking spaces are available in the courtyard, but when these are full there is no possibility to unload or load the cars. Public parking lot then about 750m away. Generally not a quiet spot, as there is a lot of traffic, especially on the We seee, and the noise level is really enormous due to all the cobblestone streets. Hotel is located directly on the swing bridge on the main street. Local residents are not to be envied. But the kitchen has to be praised. There were 10 of us and everyone tasted good. Only our waiter was really unmotivated and seemed rather annoyed. So we would not stay here again, especially since there were problems with the final bill and we should pay double the tourist tax.
A very nice place to stay. But that's the only pleasant thing about the islander. Unfortunately, price performance doesn't match in the least! Prices completely excessive and I am no curmudgeon !! It is only served in 10 min. Tact! Guests were ignored and left again! To top it off, 3 of 3 urinals were broken! In this place only enjoy the sun, you can safely do without the gastronomy!
I came here today for dinner. All tables were empty but with a table "reserved". Thw family before me came without reservation and got a table. I was alone and got an answer "everything is reserved". Good luck with business guys.
We came for lunch a little later, around 14:00. Service very friendly. The food was excellent, there was nothing to complain about. Price performance was also perfectly fine. We would recommend it again. We cannot understand the bad reviews.
Good steak and tasty salad. Goes perfect with a glass of their good house wine.

The rooms are clean and big enough for two persons. The location is good as well, as it is in the town center. The three starts are for the breakfast, that is quite scarce in choices for a contintal breakfast and the service is not the best. Also there not enough parking places, although they indicate that there should be enough for most of the guests.
Local food with a good view on the channel.
A very nice and cosy place, wonderful location near the town's famous drawbridge, spacious rooms and a good restaurant downside.
